RAFA Rides, the charity cycling event organised by the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA), is set to return to Kendrew Barracks in Rutland later this year, offering cyclists a unique opportunity to ride through a historic military site. The event will take place on Saturday, June 13.
The ride has been designed to be accessible to a wider range of cyclists, encouraging both seasoned riders and newcomers to participate while supporting a good cause.
RAFA Rides raises funds to help serving and former members of the Royal Air Force and their families.
Kendrew Barracks, located near Cottesmore, has a long history with the Royal Air Force. The site, formerly RAF Cottesmore, was a key operational base for decades, hosting Tornado training and serving as the last home of the Harrier jet before its transfer to the British Army in 2012.
The event organisers highlighted the significance of returning to the historic site. Participants will not only enjoy a challenging and scenic ride but also experience the rich heritage of one of the UK’s most notable former RAF bases.
