Jaguar Land Rover Launches All-Black Range Rover SV Black Model in Seoul’s Gangnam District

by Shreeya

The Range Rover SV Black, a new luxury SUV from Jaguar Land Rover Korea, has made its official debut in Seoul’s Gangnam District. Unveiled at the SV Bespoke Studio inside the Cheonil Automobile Gangnam Showroom, this model presents a bold statement of elegance and power with its striking all-black exterior. The vehicle’s design features a deep Narvik Gloss Black finish that covers every detail, creating a commanding presence on the road.

Jaguar Land Rover Korea’s Managing Director, Robin Colgan, introduced the Range Rover SV Black on April 2, emphasizing its role in representing timeless luxury. Unlike traditional chrome accents used for decades to symbolize opulence, this model replaces them with black gloss elements due to environmental considerations. The grille, bonnet lettering, and brake calipers are all finished in glossy black, blending seamlessly into the vehicle’s dark silhouette. The 23-inch forged wheels also sport the Narvik Gloss Black treatment, with subtle branding that highlights refined craftsmanship.

Inside the cabin, the focus shifts to comfort and sophistication with satin black tones and Near-Aniline Ebony leather seats. The interior design includes a unique single-panel seat cover that reduces visible seams for a smoother appearance. Embroidered details and a gradient perforation pattern on the upper seat sections further enhance the luxurious atmosphere. The gear shifter is crafted from satin black ceramic, adding to the overall sleek aesthetic.

The choice of black as the dominant color is deliberate and symbolic. In color psychology, black represents authority, class, mystery, and power—qualities befitting a luxury SUV brand like Range Rover. In South Korea, black is widely regarded as the color for vehicles driven by those who have achieved success. Many high-ranking executives and business leaders prefer black cars to reflect their status. By embracing this color fully, Jaguar Land Rover aims to reclaim its prestige within Korea’s competitive import car market.

Priced at approximately 362.67 million won in Korea, the Range Rover SV Black targets buyers who seek exclusivity and are willing to invest in premium quality. This model is positioned just behind luxury brands like Mercedes-Benz and Porsche but stands out for its distinctive all-black styling and refined details. It is expected to attract attention not only for its appearance but also for its embodiment of British luxury craftsmanship adapted to modern tastes.

The introduction of the Range Rover SV Black marks a significant moment for Jaguar Land Rover in Korea as it strives to regain ground in an increasingly crowded luxury SUV segment. By combining advanced design techniques with an emphasis on understated yet powerful aesthetics, this model sets a new benchmark for what luxury SUVs can represent in terms of style and presence.
