Malaysia’s electric vehicle (EV) market is accelerating as Lotus Cars Malaysia Sdn Bhd introduces the MY27 Lotus Eletre 600 and Lotus Emeya, the latest additions to its all-electric lineup. These new models mark a confident push into the premium EV segment, combining high performance, luxury, and advanced technology into a distinct Lotus driving experience.
With over 300 Eletre and Emeya units already delivered nationwide, Lotus is moving beyond early-stage testing and rapidly gaining momentum in the market.
According to Karrus Automotive Group Executive Director Reza Mutalib, the Eletre 600 redefines the performance SUV. “With 450 kW (603 hp) delivered via a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, it delivers acceleration on par with traditional supercars while maintaining the versatility expected of a modern SUV,” he said. “Its 112 kWh battery provides up to 580 km of range, striking the perfect balance between thrilling performance and everyday usability.”
The Eletre stands out with its sculpted lines, active aerodynamics, and muscular stance, creating a visual presence that is both aggressive and refined—an SUV that looks as fast as it drives.
Meanwhile, the Emeya offers a different approach, prioritizing elegance and long-distance comfort. “As a hyper-GT sedan, the Emeya delivers speed with sophistication. Low, sleek, and aerodynamically optimized, it embodies the modern grand tourer, effortlessly blending dynamic performance with refined luxury,” Reza explained.
Enhanced Luxury as Standard
For the MY27 models, Lotus has upgraded the standard equipment across both vehicles. Interiors now feature premium touches such as Nappa leather seats, dark tri-color seatbelts, and configurable ambient lighting. Functionally, an active rear spoiler and new larger wheels—22 inches for the Eletre and 21 inches for the Emeya—paired with Pirelli P Zero tires and six-piston brake calipers, enhance both performance and aesthetics.
Advanced technology further distinguishes these models. Adaptive air suspension with Continuous Damping Control delivers a composed yet responsive ride, while a 29-inch head-up display, matrix LED headlights, four-zone climate control, and a KEF premium audio system create an intelligent and luxurious cabin environment.
Pricing and Availability
The MY27 Lotus Eletre 600 starts at RM499,000, while the Emeya 600 is priced from RM489,000, positioning both models competitively within Malaysia’s luxury EV segment. Buyers can select from core colors including Zenith White, Kaimu Grey, and Stellar Black, or opt for bolder finishes like Galloway Green, Boreal Grey, Fireglow Orange, and Solar Yellow.
Reza highlighted Lotus’ continued commitment to performance and innovation in the electric era. “While our philosophy has evolved for electrification, the essence remains the same—precision engineering, driver engagement, and an unwavering focus on innovation,” he said.
With the Eletre 600 and Emeya, Lotus is setting a new benchmark for what it means to be a performance brand in Malaysia’s growing luxury EV market.
