Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has introduced two ultra-luxury electric models under a newly created brand called Lac Hong, marking a significant step in the company’s strategy to reposition and diversify its product portfolio.
The announcement forms part of a broader restructuring of VinFast’s electric vehicle lineup, which will now be organized into three distinct automotive brands. The newly revealed Lac Hong 800S SUV and Lac Hong 900S sedan are intended to compete with some of the most prestigious vehicles in the global ultra-luxury segment.
The design philosophy behind the Lac Hong models draws heavily on Vietnam’s cultural heritage, with the brand aiming to reflect the nation’s strength, intellect, and stature. The 800S SUV adopts a bold and commanding design language, while the 900S sedan emphasizes refined proportions and timeless elegance.
Both vehicles will be powered by a three-motor all-wheel-drive electric powertrain producing approximately 615 horsepower. VinFast said the system will deliver strong performance while supporting the large vehicles’ luxury positioning.
To enhance ride quality and driving stability, the models will feature the company’s first full active suspension system. The technology is designed to improve handling by reducing body roll and minimizing brake dive, helping maintain comfort and composure despite the vehicles’ size.
Inside, the Lac Hong models will focus heavily on craftsmanship and premium materials. VinFast said the cabins will feature nappa leather upholstery, rare wood trims, and gold-plated decorative accents, reinforcing their ultra-luxury positioning.
The Lac Hong 900S sedan will also introduce several high-end features tailored for rear-seat passengers. These include zero-gravity executive seating and an integrated entertainment system capable of streaming services such as Netflix. Additional amenities include automatic electric doors and dual wireless smartphone chargers located in the center console.
VinFast has not yet disclosed key specifications such as battery capacity, driving range, charging performance, or pricing for the new models.
According to the company, both vehicles are scheduled to enter the market in 2027. The launch reflects VinFast’s continued ambition to strengthen its presence in the global automotive industry, even as it works to overcome challenges in certain markets, including the United States.
With the introduction of the Lac Hong brand, VinFast is aiming to expand beyond mainstream electric vehicles and establish a foothold in the ultra-luxury EV segment, combining advanced technology with distinctive design inspired by Vietnamese culture.
