AutoWeb has officially launched its new regional marketplace, UsedCars, in Arizona, aiming to tap into the growing number of consumers shifting from new vehicles to used models. The platform debuts in Phoenix, Prescott, Mesa, and Tucson and is being billed as a “zero-risk” solution for dealerships.
According to AutoWeb, one in three shoppers who start by researching new cars ultimately purchase used vehicles, largely due to affordability concerns as the average new car price now exceeds $50,000 and monthly payments approach $800. UsedCars is designed to connect with buyers at this critical pivot point, routing them directly to dealer inventory before they start comparing across multiple platforms.
“Most used-car marketplaces only engage shoppers after they’ve already decided to buy used,” said Payam Zamani, CEO of One Planet Group, AutoWeb’s parent company. “UsedCars connects with buyers the moment they pivot from new to used, giving dealers earlier access and a competitive edge.”
The platform removes traditional financial risks for dealerships. Dealers face no upfront subscription fees or per-lead costs and only pay when a vehicle sells. Sales attribution is verified through DealerVault, which matches leads from UsedCars to actual dealer sales records.
“We designed this model to eliminate the risk dealers face with traditional marketing programs,” said Dan Ingle, AutoWeb president and COO. “There are no upfront costs and no wasted spend. Dealers only pay when they see results. That alignment fundamentally changes the relationship.”
UsedCars’s launch in Arizona marks the start of a regional expansion strategy. The company plans to expand to Colorado next, building strong local dealer networks while giving shoppers access to relevant inventory. Arizona dealers joining the platform receive early-adopter benefits, including priority inventory integration, waived fees on their first three verified sales, and locked pricing for 12 months.
AutoWeb’s digital properties attract over 11 million automotive searches per month, creating a substantial funnel of in-market shoppers. Leveraging decades of consumer behavior insights, UsedCars is positioned to capitalize on the growing trend of new-to-used vehicle purchasing.
