Lexus has officially unveiled the 2026 ES EV, a fully electric version of its flagship luxury sedan, priced more affordably than many anticipated. The entry-level ES 350e starts at $48,795 and delivers an EPA-estimated driving range of more than 300 miles, positioning it as a strong contender in the premium EV segment.
The 2026 ES represents a complete redesign, both inside and out, and becomes the first core Lexus model to adopt a “multi-platform” architecture that supports both electric and hybrid powertrains. Drawing inspiration from the LF-ZC concept first shown at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show, the sedan features a redesigned “spindle body” and a refined version of Lexus’ signature grille, giving it a more modern and aerodynamic look.
Inside, the new ES introduces the latest Lexus Interface Multimedia system. The upgraded system is faster and more intuitive, highlighted by a 14-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a 12.3-inch digital driver display.
Trim Options and Pricing
The 2026 Lexus ES EV is available in two main variants: the front-wheel-drive ES 350e and the all-wheel-drive ES 500e. Both are offered in Premium and Luxury trims.
- ES 350e Premium (FWD): $48,795 — up to 307 miles range (19-inch wheels)
- ES 500e Premium AWD: $51,795 — up to 276 miles range (19-inch wheels)
- ES 350e Luxury (FWD): $57,195 — up to 292 miles range (21-inch wheels)
- ES 500e Luxury AWD: $60,195 — up to 272 miles range (21-inch wheels)
Hybrid variants remain part of the lineup, with the ES 350h Premium starting at $50,995. All-wheel-drive and higher-spec Premium+ versions are priced up to $57,195.
Charging and Technology
The new ES EV is equipped with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, allowing access to Tesla’s Supercharger network. Lexus states the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes under ideal conditions, improving long-distance usability.
Market Positioning
With a starting price below $50,000, the ES 350e undercuts several key rivals in the luxury EV segment. The BMW i4 starts at around $58,000, while the Audi A6 e-tron begins at approximately $65,900. However, the Tesla Model 3 remains significantly more affordable, with a starting price of $36,900.
The 2026 Lexus ES EV is now on sale, while the hybrid ES 350h is expected to arrive in June 2026. The model joins Lexus’ growing electrified lineup, alongside the updated RZ SUV and several new Toyota electric vehicles currently available in the U.S. market.
