Audi Plans Major US Comeback With New Q9 SUV, Next-Gen Q7 and Refreshed Q4 e-tron

Audi is preparing a major product offensive in the United States as the German luxury automaker looks to strengthen its position in the competitive premium vehicle market with three key SUV launches.

The company is expected to introduce the all-new Audi Q9, the next-generation Q7 and an updated Q4 e-tron over the coming months, according to reports from industry outlet TopElectricSUV. The new models are seen as critical to helping Audi regain momentum in the U.S., where rivals BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Lexus continue to dominate luxury sales.

Leading the expansion will be the Audi Q9, a new flagship full-size SUV reportedly designed with the U.S. market as a priority. The three-row model is expected to debut later this year before reaching American dealerships in 2027.

The Q9 will give Audi a dedicated competitor in the growing full-size luxury SUV segment, where it will take on models such as the Mercedes-Benz GLS, BMW X7, Cadillac Escalade and Range Rover. While Audi currently offers the Q7 with three-row seating, the Q9 is expected to serve as the brand’s first purpose-built flagship SUV in the segment.

Audi is also preparing a mid-cycle refresh for the Q4 e-tron, its compact electric SUV. The update comes as automakers continue adjusting EV strategies amid shifting consumer demand, though industry analysts note long-term electrification plans remain intact despite slowing near-term growth in some markets.

Meanwhile, Audi has confirmed that the third-generation Q7 will debut this year as a 2027 model. The redesigned SUV will replace the current generation introduced in 2015, which has already undergone two facelifts during its lifecycle.

The new Q7 is expected to feature updated hybrid powertrains and major technology upgrades as Audi seeks to keep pace with refreshed and redesigned competitors including the Mercedes-Benz GLE and BMW X5.

Together, the Q9, Q7 and Q4 e-tron refresh represent a significant product push for Audi as it aims to rebuild momentum and challenge the top players in the U.S. luxury vehicle market.
