Lucid Motors is set to expand its luxury electric vehicle lineup with the launch of two new mid-size crossovers priced below $50,000. These upcoming models aim to bring Lucid’s renowned blend of luxury, performance, and efficiency to a broader audience within the highly competitive crossover market. One model will focus on on-road driving, appealing to traditional luxury crossover buyers, while the other will feature a rugged design tailored for adventurous drivers.
The announcement came amid Lucid Gravity’s recent win of the 2026 World Luxury Car award at the New York International Auto Show. This marks the second time Lucid has earned this prestigious title, following the Lucid Air sedan’s win in 2023. Rob Whitley, Air and Gravity Product and Pricing Manager at Lucid, expressed enthusiasm about the brand’s ongoing success and its future plans during the event.
Whitley highlighted that Lucid continues to lead its segments with vehicles offering the longest range, fastest charging speeds, and spacious interiors. The brand’s engineering and design teams have focused on optimizing every detail to maintain these advantages. Lucid’s vehicles are not only attracting early electric vehicle adopters but are also drawing customers from traditional luxury gas-powered SUVs and competitors like Tesla. In fact, Tesla Model S owners are among the most common trade-ins for the Lucid Air.
The new crossovers will maintain Lucid’s commitment to luxury without compromising affordability. Whitley emphasized that despite a starting price under $50,000, the vehicles will uphold the brand’s premium standards. One model is expected to compete with established electric crossovers such as the Tesla Model Y by targeting buyers looking for a sophisticated on-road experience. The other model will cater to consumers seeking a more rugged style suited for off-road or outdoor activities.
In addition to luxury and performance, these vehicles promise impressive convenience and efficiency. Whitley shared his personal experience charging a Lucid Air exclusively using a standard 120-volt outlet at home, which added about 100 miles of range per day without requiring a dedicated home charger. On longer trips, he needed only one charging stop for a journey from Tampa to Raleigh.
Government data supports the financial benefits of owning a Lucid vehicle, noting that owners of models like the Lucid Gravity can save approximately $10,000 in fuel and energy costs over five years compared to traditional gas SUVs. These savings, combined with superior range and fast charging capabilities, are helping more luxury buyers transition to electric vehicles.
Lucid plans to reveal both new crossovers later this year. With their competitive pricing and signature luxury features, these models are expected to further strengthen Lucid’s position in the growing luxury electric vehicle market.
