Lucid Group has announced that its all-electric SUV, the Lucid Gravity, has been honored with the prestigious 2026 World Luxury Car of the Year award. This recognition comes from the World Car Awards program, which features a jury of over 100 respected automotive journalists worldwide. The award places Lucid Gravity at the forefront of luxury SUVs, acknowledging its innovative design and performance among electric, hybrid, and traditional combustion vehicles.
The Lucid Gravity builds on the success of Lucid’s previous winner, the Lucid Air sedan, which was named World Luxury Car of the Year in 2023. This marks a significant achievement for Lucid, highlighting the company’s dedication to redefining luxury and technology in the automotive industry. The World Car Awards have been celebrating excellence in automotive innovation for 22 years, making this accolade highly respected globally.
Marc Winterhoff, Interim CEO of Lucid, emphasized that this award reflects both the vision behind Lucid’s products and the team’s exceptional execution. He described the Gravity as combining the spaciousness and versatility of a full-size SUV with the driving dynamics of a sports car. The vehicle’s luxury experience is enhanced by proprietary technology and engineering that set new benchmarks for what luxury SUVs can offer.
Designed on a new platform specifically for sporty SUVs, the Lucid Gravity features two motors and all-wheel drive with adjustable air suspension as standard. This combination ensures a smooth ride on various terrains, from city streets to off-road trails. Additionally, an available rear-axle steering system improves handling on winding roads and enhances maneuverability in tight urban environments.
Inside, the Gravity offers a spacious interior that seats up to seven adults comfortably. It achieves full-size SUV practicality within a mid-size footprint. The second row features sliding seats with optional integrated convenience tables for an enhanced passenger experience. Even passengers in the third row enjoy remarkable legroom, making it ideal for family trips or adventures.
The vehicle’s powertrain is notable for its high efficiency and fast charging capabilities. The Lucid Gravity provides an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 450 miles on a single charge. Its DC fast-charging system can add approximately 200 miles of range in under 11 minutes at more than 32,500 fast-charging stations across North America.
The Lucid Gravity will be showcased at the 2026 New York International Auto Show from April 3 to April 12. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore its luxury features firsthand and test its performance on the event’s EV test track. Orders for the vehicle are currently open through Lucid’s official channels.
