Foreign workers residing in South Korea are set to experience significantly improved access to used-car purchases, thanks to a new partnership between Clinkers, operator of the integrated life and financial platform Glow, and the mobility platform Orcar. The companies announced the signing of a business agreement (MOU) on March 23, aiming to streamline the car-buying process for foreigners.
The collaboration addresses long-standing challenges faced by foreign workers holding E-9 visas, including limited access to financing, reliance on unofficial transaction channels, and information gaps during vehicle purchases. Through the partnership, Glow and Orcar plan to create a safer and more systematic infrastructure, enabling foreign residents to buy cars on par with domestic consumers.
Orcar will provide Glow users with pre-verified used-car listings and transparent vehicle history details. To overcome language barriers, the platform has implemented English-language customer support, ensuring foreign buyers can communicate effectively and make informed decisions.
Clinkers will integrate Orcar’s listing system directly into the Glow app, allowing users to search for vehicles within a single platform. Additionally, Clinkers’ subsidiary, Win Investment, will offer tailored loan consultations and connect users with financial institutions, significantly lowering barriers to securing purchase funds.
Once fully implemented, the integration will offer foreign workers a one-stop service—from vehicle search and financial consultation to final purchase—making the car-buying experience smoother and more transparent.
Clinkers CEO emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating, “Our cooperation with Orcar is an important opportunity to expand the service beyond simple financial linkage into an essential area of daily life for foreign workers. We aim to reduce information asymmetry and build a transparent transaction environment.”
Orcar’s CEO also expressed optimism, noting, “Based on the positive synergy with Clinkers, we will provide the most trustworthy purchase channel for foreigners in South Korea who urgently need mobility.”
