Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast has completed the restructuring of its automotive business into three distinct brand lines and unveiled two new ultra-luxury flagship models, signaling its growing global ambitions.
The Lac Hong 800S and Lac Hong 900S join the Lac Hong line, VinFast’s dedicated ultra-luxury marque, while the company continues to develop its VF mass-market EV range and Green commercial mobility brand.
The VF lineup spans a broad portfolio of mass-market passenger EVs, from the VF 3 to VF 9, including the seven-seat VF MPV 7. The VF 6 and VF 9 have recently been introduced to the Indian market, reflecting VinFast’s ongoing international expansion. The Green brand, meanwhile, targets commercial and service mobility, offering vehicles such as the Limo Green, Herio Green, Nerio Green, and Minio Green.
The newly revealed Lac Hong models complement VinFast’s flagship 900 LX, which debuted in 2025 with an advanced armored variant. According to VinFast, the exterior design draws inspiration from Vietnamese heritage, with vertical grille slats symbolizing bamboo resilience, a wing-shaped emblem representing the ascending Lac bird, and motifs inspired by Dong Son bronze drums and terraced rice fields integrated throughout. The Lac Hong nameplate is rendered in a gold-plated calligraphic style, enhancing the brand’s luxury appeal.
Inside, the Lac Hong 800S and 900S feature premium materials, including Nappa leather, rare woods, and gold-plated accents. Both vehicles come with fully active suspension systems designed to optimize ride comfort and dynamic stability. The models can be optionally equipped with a tri-motor powertrain—one front motor and two rear motors—producing up to 460 kW (over 600 hp), according to VinFast, with further specifications expected closer to launch.
The Lac Hong 800S and 900S are scheduled for a commercial launch in 2027 and are expected to be available in India, marking a significant step in VinFast’s strategy to position itself as a global player in both mass-market and ultra-luxury electric mobility.
