Bachelor Nation star Kaity Biggar has revealed she is seriously considering having her breast implants removed, opening up about the medical, financial and personal factors behind the decision.
In a TikTok video shared on Friday, January 9, the 31-year-old reality TV alum told followers she was on her way to a medical consultation to explore the possibility of an explant — the surgical removal of breast implants.
“For those who don’t know, the girls, they aren’t real,” Biggar said candidly in the video. “We’re gonna think about getting them taken out, so an explant. We’re gonna see what the process is going to be like getting them taken out and how much that would potentially cost.”
Biggar, who had her breast augmentation done in Canada after researching the procedure since her late teens, later shared details from her consultation, which she described as thorough and informative.
“It was really good and really informative,” she said. “We went over everything — what it would look like and what would happen if I got them taken out.”
According to Biggar, the explant surgery would take about two hours and would be performed under general anesthesia. She explained that doctors typically remove not only the implants but also the surrounding capsule of tissue that forms naturally around them.
“When you have an implant put into your body, that’s a foreign object, your body creates a capsule around it,” she said. “They want to go in and remove that whole thing as well. I’d want them to take absolutely everything.”
Biggar added that she is considering a bilateral breast explant with total capsulectomy, a procedure she was told would cost approximately $11,500. By comparison, her original breast augmentation cost about $14,700 in Canadian dollars. She underwent the surgery in Ottawa with a surgeon who specialized in natural-looking results.
“He honestly killed it. Great job,” she said, adding that even her now-husband, Zach Shallcross, was initially unaware she had implants.
“Zach didn’t even know I had breast implants when he first saw them,” she joked.
If she goes forward with the surgery, Biggar said she would have two drains placed in her chest for about two weeks during recovery, meaning she would need to take time off from her nursing job.
“You would have [the drains] in for about two weeks, so I would obviously have to take two weeks off work,” she said. “It’s pretty intense.”
Biggar has not yet made a final decision about the procedure. She continues to work as a nurse after getting engaged to Shallcross during The Bachelor Season 27 in 2022. The couple married in May 2025.
Beyond the potential surgery, the newlyweds are also focused on building their future together. In a recent interview, Biggar shared that they are in the process of building a home, expected to be ready by early summer.
“We’re so excited to start our family,” she said. “We’re focusing right now on the house, and then probably around then, we’re going to start cooking one up.”
Shallcross, 29, has also spoken enthusiastically about the prospect of fatherhood, praising Biggar’s caring nature.
“I know she’ll be a great mom because she has such attention and care for people that she loves,” he said. “She always thinks of others before herself, and I know that she’ll do that with our future kids.”
As Biggar weighs her next medical step, she continues to be open with fans about her journey — from her body image choices to the life she is building with her husband.
