She now enjoys lower monthly energy costs and no longer worries about frequent trips to the gas station. Similarly, Chris McCathern, a drone instructor from Palmetto, was initially hesitant about EVs due to concerns about charging availability but changed his mind as premium gasoline prices soared. He now completes his daily 70-mile commute on a single overnight charge.
The removal of federal tax credits for new EV purchases last year had caused a drop in sales, but the recent spike in fuel prices has reversed that trend.
