Lucid Group, Inc. has announced that its latest model, the Lucid Gravity, has been awarded the prestigious 2026 World Luxury Car of the Year by the renowned World Car Awards. This accolade recognizes excellence among electric, hybrid, and traditional combustion vehicles and is judged by a global panel of over 100 automotive journalists. This win marks Lucid’s second triumph in this category, following the success of the Lucid Air sedan in 2023.
The Lucid Gravity is an all-electric luxury SUV that combines spaciousness with sporty performance. It is built on a new platform designed specifically for SUVs, featuring dual motors and all-wheel drive for enhanced handling. The vehicle also includes an adjustable air suspension system, providing a smooth and comfortable ride whether on paved roads or rough trails.
Inside, the Gravity offers seating for up to seven adults with generous legroom extending to the third row. Its interior design emphasizes comfort and convenience, including sliding second-row seats and optional integrated tables that enhance the passenger experience. Despite its full-size SUV capabilities, it maintains a mid-size footprint for easier maneuverability in urban settings.
Performance-wise, the Lucid Gravity impresses with a high-efficiency powertrain capable of delivering up to 450 miles of EPA-estimated driving range. Its fast-charging technology can add approximately 200 miles of range in under 11 minutes at over 32,500 DC fast-charging stations across North America. Additionally, an available rear-axle steering system improves handling on winding roads and makes tight city driving more manageable.
Marc Winterhoff, Interim CEO of Lucid, highlighted that the award reflects the company’s strong product vision and execution. He emphasized that the Gravity sets a new benchmark for luxury SUVs by blending space, versatility, and sports-car-like dynamics with advanced technology.
The Lucid Gravity will be showcased at the 2026 New York International Auto Show from April 3 to April 12. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore its innovative features firsthand and experience its performance on the event’s EV test track. The vehicle is now available for order through Lucid’s official channels.
