Rolls-Royce has announced the launch of its exclusive Coachbuild Collection, a new line of ultra-bespoke vehicles designed to offer the pinnacle of luxury and craftsmanship. The first model in the series is scheduled for an official reveal next month.
Described by the marque as a “new proposition in super-luxury,” the Coachbuild Collection will feature extremely limited-edition cars with unique body styles. Each vehicle in the program will be individually designed and engineered, with the number of units varying per model.
Owners invited to purchase a Coachbuild Collection car will also gain access to a multi-year program of tailored events, providing an immersive experience around their bespoke vehicle.
Continuing a Tradition of Bespoke Excellence
Coachbuilding has been a cornerstone of Rolls-Royce since the company’s founding. In the early days, customers would receive a completed chassis, which coachbuilders would then transform into custom bodywork according to individual preferences. Founders Charles Rolls and Henry Royce mandated only that the radiator grille proportions remain unchanged, ensuring every car retained the unmistakable Rolls-Royce identity.
This tradition has persisted in the modern era, exemplified by extraordinary models such as the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail convertible, unveiled at the 2022 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. Unlike standard customizations, vehicles like the Boat Tail were designed entirely by Rolls-Royce, with clients entrusting the company to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
The Coachbuild Collection will continue this approach, giving Rolls-Royce creative freedom to produce limited-run vehicles tailored to each client.
A Truly Exclusive Ownership Experience
All Coachbuild Collection vehicles will be fully homologated and road-legal, emphasizing that these masterpieces are meant to be driven, not just displayed. Allocations will be offered exclusively to Rolls-Royce’s most esteemed clients through the Private Office network in Dubai, Seoul, Shanghai, New York, and the company’s Goodwood headquarters in West Sussex.
Participants in the first Coachbuild Collection will enjoy an insider’s view of their car’s creation, including visits to design studios, workshops, and private test facilities where the vehicle will undergo evaluation.
The First Coachbuild Collection Car: Fully Electric
The debut model of the Coachbuild Collection will be fully electric, reflecting the preferences of Rolls-Royce clients. Many prospective owners already drive the Spectre, Rolls-Royce’s first electric vehicle, and overwhelmingly favored an electric powertrain for this series.
