A team of housebuilders from Barratt David Wilson Homes’ Southampton division has raised more than £15,000 in support of men’s health.
Seven staff members, based in Hedge End, participated in the international Movember campaign by growing moustaches throughout November.
The effort was led by managing director Matt Paine and commercial director Ross Snow. All funds raised will be donated to the Movember Foundation.
Mr. Paine said, “The Barratt office has become home to some fantastic ‘taches. It’s been great to see the results. Everyone’s been such a good sport, and I’m very proud of my team. We were all keen to take part in a popular challenge in aid of men’s mental health—an especially important issue in our industry. Movember is a chance for us to give back, raise awareness, and encourage our colleagues to never suffer in silence.”
The Movember Foundation funds research and programmes focusing on prostate and testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention. The construction industry, like many male-dominated sectors, faces ongoing challenges in supporting men’s mental wellbeing.
