NEW YORK – As New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson leads his team in a championship quest, his wife, Dr. Alison “Ali” Marks Brunson, is a constant source of support from the stands. The couple’s relationship, which began in high school, has become a focus for fans during the playoffs.
Brunson has spoken publicly about his wife. He told People magazine, “She’s always been by my side and I’m lucky to have her.” During games, fans often see him signing “I love you” to her in the audience.
From High School Sweethearts to Long-Distance Partners
The couple’s story started at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in a Chicago suburb. They attended homecoming and prom together before graduating.
After high school, their relationship continued long-distance. Brunson attended Villanova University while Ali studied at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. There, she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and the Pre-Physical Therapy Club.
A Career in Physical Therapy
Ali Marks pursued her doctorate in physical therapy at Northwestern University. She graduated in 2021. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
She began her career at the W.B. Carrell Memorial Clinic in Dallas. This was while Brunson played for the Dallas Mavericks.
She now operates her own boutique physical therapy practice in Westchester. On her website, she states her passion is “integrating physical therapy based methods with conventional strength training.” Her practice is currently not accepting new clients.
