British TV presenter Davina McCall has provided an update on her health after undergoing surgery to remove a breast tumour, nearly a year after a complex operation to remove a rare brain tumour.
Speaking at a UK event yesterday, McCall, 58, revealed that surgeons successfully removed a 4mm cancerous lump and confirmed she has received the all-clear.
The former Big Brother host shared the news on social media, explaining that the breast cancer was detected very early after she discovered the lump just five weeks prior. She acted quickly to have it checked and subsequently underwent surgery.
McCall is now recovering at home with her family. In an emotional message on Instagram, she expressed gratitude to her loved ones and the staff at the Royal Marsden Hospital, while emphasizing the importance of regular checks:“The message here is know your boobs. Notice any changes. Don’t procrastinate. Get your free checkups. And never ignore a niggle. Sending out huge love.”
Looking ahead, McCall plans to undergo five sessions of radiotherapy in January as a precaution to reduce the risk of recurrence.
Reflecting on her diagnosis, McCall admitted she initially felt very angry upon learning about her breast cancer but has since moved to a more positive mindset.
This latest update comes almost a year after McCall, a mother of three, underwent surgery to remove a very rare brain tumour, highlighting her ongoing resilience and commitment to her health.
