Haley and Hanna Cavinder have shared an unfiltered look at their six-month body transformation, revealing how a shift away from restrictive dieting helped reshape both their physiques and their relationship with food.
The social media influencers and former University of Miami basketball stars posted side-by-side bikini photos on Instagram this week, highlighting the dramatic change in their now more toned, muscular bodies. In a candid caption, the twins reflected on years spent “chasing skinny” and the unhealthy habits that came with it.
“We used to chase skinny, which meant under-eating, over-training, and wondering why nothing ever grew — especially our glutes,” they wrote. “For years we thought less food = better results. In reality, it just meant stalled progress, low energy, and bodies that couldn’t change.”
The sisters explained that their breakthrough came when they began eating enough, following structured macronutrient plans, and training with clearer goals. “Once we started eating enough, following intentional macros, and training with purpose, that’s when our bodies actually changed,” they said.
They also used the post to promote their fitness venture, adding: “Glute growth doesn’t come from starving yourself. It comes from fueling muscle, recovering properly, and trusting the process. That’s exactly why we built our macro program and the Twogether app — to teach you how to eat for your body, not against it.”
The transformation comes nearly three years after the twins publicly discussed their struggles with eating disorders. In a 2023 YouTube video, they revealed that both had been affected by anorexia nervosa following their transfer from Fresno State to Miami in 2022.
Hanna said she began calorie counting and became overly sensitive about food. “If we’re going to do something, we’re going to do it 100 percent — there’s no in-between,” she explained. “It started getting very toxic with eating a certain amount of calories a day. But we’re burning so many calories and not taking in enough.”
The sisters also spoke about hormonal imbalances, hair loss, and the pressure of being constantly compared to one another online. They admitted their eating habits even turned into a competition, with each trying to go longer without food than the other.
Recognizing the severity of the problem, the twins sought professional help and worked with fitness coach Kathryne “Kat” Padgett, a former partner of MLB star Alex Rodriguez, to rebuild healthier nutrition habits.
Since then, the Cavinders have become increasingly open about their wellness journey. In June 2024, they walked the runway at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit show during Miami Swim Week and now regularly share bikini photos with their followers.
Haley, who got engaged to Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson in April 2025, recently revealed on TikTok that she is doing a “bridal bootcamp” to prepare for her wedding.
The twins also made headlines last year when they announced they had both undergone breast augmentation surgery, a decision that drew mixed reactions from fans. They teased the procedure in a gym video, lip-syncing to a voiceover that joked about getting a “rack” within 24 hours.
Capitalizing on their fame as college athletes, the Cavinder twins have built a massive social media presence, boasting 4.6 million followers on TikTok and an estimated net worth of around $4 million.
Their latest post underscores a broader message they say they hope resonates with their audience: real progress comes not from deprivation, but from nourishment, recovery, and consistency.
