Porsche has introduced the 2027 911 GT3 S/C, a new open-top performance model designed for driving enthusiasts, blending lightweight construction with a naturally aspirated engine and a traditional manual transmission.
The GT3 S/C—short for Sport Cabriolet—draws heavily from the brand’s purist-focused 911 S/T and the track-oriented 911 GT3. It is powered by a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine delivering 502 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired exclusively with a short-ratio six-speed GT Sport manual transmission, sending power to the rear wheels. Porsche says the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 194 mph.
Positioned as the only two-seat convertible currently offered in the 911 lineup, the GT3 S/C echoes the spirit of the 2019 911 Speedster, though Porsche has confirmed it will not be a limited-production model.
Despite featuring a fully automatic convertible roof, the GT3 S/C maintains a relatively low curb weight of 3,322 pounds. This is achieved through extensive use of lightweight materials, including carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic for the hood, fenders, doors, suspension components, and rear underbody. Magnesium is used in the roof structure and center-lock wheels, while Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes are fitted as standard.
According to Frank Moser, vice president of the 911 and 718 model lines, the new model responds to customer demand for engaging, driver-focused sports cars. He noted that the open-top configuration enhances the appeal of the GT3’s high-revving powertrain.
Inside, the cabin emphasizes weight reduction and performance-oriented design. The two-seat layout features lightweight carpeting, carbon-fiber door pulls, and perforated leather upholstery. Four-way Sport Seats Plus come standard, with optional carbon-fiber bucket seats available. A digital instrument cluster includes Porsche’s Track Screen mode, which highlights key performance data and can reposition the tachometer so the 9,000-rpm redline sits at the top of the display.
The GT3 S/C also introduces a double-wishbone front axle to an open-top 911 for the first time, borrowing chassis tuning elements from the 911 GT3 Touring Package. The car rides on staggered 20-inch front and 21-inch rear magnesium wheels fitted with high-performance tires.
Its lightweight, power-operated convertible roof can open or close in approximately 12 seconds and incorporates magnesium structural components to maintain a coupe-like silhouette. An integrated electric wind deflector deploys in about two seconds to improve comfort during open-air driving.
Porsche is offering additional customization through its Exclusive Manufaktur program, including a new Street Style Package. This option adds Pyro Red exterior graphics, unique trim elements, two-tone leather, braided seat inserts, and a walnut shift lever, among other bespoke details.
Other available accessories include a 2.8-cubic-foot rear storage box tailored to the GT3 S/C and a limited Porsche Design chronograph reserved for owners.
The 2027 Porsche 911 GT3 S/C is now open for orders, with a starting price of $273,000 before destination charges. Deliveries to U.S. dealerships are expected to begin in fall 2026.
