Gypsy Rose Blanchard Reveals Weight Loss Journey and Life After Prison Transformation

by Shreeya

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is opening up about her dramatic weight loss and the lifestyle changes that have followed her release from prison.

More than two years after serving time for her role in the death of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, Gypsy shared her physical transformation with fans on Instagram. In a video posted March 4, she credited her slimmer figure to changes in her daily life rather than strict dieting or exercise.

“OK y’all, I’m not gatekeeping. My weight loss came from life circumstances,” Gypsy wrote. “After being released two years ago, my lifestyle changed a lot—from commissary junk food to home-cooked meals and trying new foods.”

In the clip, the 34-year-old steps onto a scale reading 108 pounds, while also showing off toned abs and her long brown hair. Gypsy emphasized that her weight loss was neither intentional nor aided by medications or a structured fitness routine.

“I don’t follow a workout routine (though I’d love one),” she said. “I don’t limit my diet, and I don’t use GLP-1. I wasn’t actively trying to lose weight. My whole life just changed and adjusted to freedom.”

Since her December 2023 release, Gypsy has embraced her newfound independence in multiple ways, including cosmetic changes. She underwent a nose job in April 2024 and has experimented with various hairstyles.

Some changes have been temporary. In November, she revealed she was wearing wigs after cutting her hair short due to damage from nearly two years of bleaching. “I had to cut it really short because nearly two years of bleaching it completely fried it,” she explained. “I don’t feel confident with short hair, so I normally wear a high-quality wig while my real hair grows back healthy. I’m giving my hair a fresh start so it can grow long again.”

Gypsy has expressed her excitement about continuing to reinvent herself. In a January 2024 Instagram post, she wrote, “It’s never too late to start reinventing yourself, even if it is something subtle like a new hairstyle. Enjoy life, express yourself in whatever creative ways that may make you happy.”

Now a mother to 14-month-old Aurora with boyfriend Ken Urker, Gypsy appears determined to embrace life on her own terms, both physically and personally.
