Taiwanese actress and model Sharon Hsu has revealed that she recently underwent a double mastectomy followed by reconstructive surgery after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Her team confirmed that the procedures were successful and that Hsu is now focusing on post-operative recovery.
According to reports, doctors first detected a tumor during Hsu’s routine health check-up in late 2025, around September or October. Following further testing at Linkou’s Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, a biopsy confirmed the presence of Stage 1 breast cancer.
In addition, three benign tumors were discovered in her other breast, prompting her medical team to recommend a double mastectomy to reduce the risk of recurrence. Hsu chose to undergo reconstructive surgery to restore her appearance following the procedure.
Hsu’s team has confirmed that both the mastectomy and reconstruction were completed successfully. The actress has been sharing updates with fans, including candid reflections on her journey via Instagram. Her husband, actor Edison Wang, reportedly became emotional upon seeing her post-surgery scars.
By openly discussing her experience, Hsu aims to destigmatize breast cancer surgery and inspire women to prioritize regular health screenings, including breast examinations. Fans have expressed relief and admiration for Hsu’s courage, applauding her resilience and openness.
Sharon Hsu’s journey highlights the importance of early detection and proactive medical care, while also demonstrating how public figures can positively influence awareness around breast health.
