Cardi B says she plans to take further steps to reverse past cosmetic procedures once her current tour concludes, continuing a years-long effort to remove butt injections and address related health issues.
During an appearance Tuesday on the radio show Big Boy’s Neighborhood, the Grammy-winning rapper revealed that she intends to undergo another round of removal treatments and then step away from the spotlight to recover.
“After this tour, I’m taking some out,” she said. “I don’t wanna hear nobody for three months. I’m going to Colombia. Nobody hit me up, nothing.”
A Gradual Medical Process
Cardi B, 33, has spoken candidly in recent years about the complications tied to butt injections made with biopolymers, a liquid silicone gel that can be difficult to remove. The mother of four previously disclosed that she had already had about 95% of the material taken out through multiple procedures.
In a 2024 Instagram Live session, she explained that the removal process must be done in stages.
“I got some more butt injections removed because it takes rounds to get your butt injections removed,” she said at the time, adding that she also sought treatment for fibrosis, a condition that can develop as scar tissue forms around injected material.
A Warning to Younger Fans
Cardi B has increasingly used her platform to caution young people about pursuing similar cosmetic enhancements, particularly injections performed outside regulated medical settings.
“All I’m going to say is that if you’re young—19, 20, 21—and sometimes you feel too skinny and think you don’t have enough fat for a transfer, so you resort to shots, don’t,” she said during the same livestream.
Her comments reflect broader concerns raised by medical professionals about the risks associated with unapproved fillers and biopolymer injections, which can lead to chronic pain, infection, and long-term complications.
Painful Recovery and Reluctance to Repeat Surgery
The artist also discussed the physical toll of earlier procedures in a fall interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, describing the recovery as extensive and painful.
“I already did a reduction,” she said. “For me to reduce my butt, I literally have to sit on a table, get cut from the bottom, get cut from the top, and be on bed rest for like three months.”
She added that she was initially hesitant to undergo additional surgery, noting that the decision was about health rather than appearance. “I’m not going to put myself in that position again because you don’t like my body. I learned to live with it,” she said.
Continuing a Public Conversation on Cosmetic Safety
Cardi B has been unusually transparent about her cosmetic history, using interviews and social media to share both the aesthetic pressures she once felt and the medical consequences that followed. Her latest remarks suggest she is committed to completing the removal process while encouraging fans to think carefully before undergoing similar procedures.
The rapper has not announced a timeline for the surgery beyond saying it will take place after her tour wraps.
