An Italian influencer, Yulia Burtseva, has died after undergoing a cosmetic procedure at a private clinic in Moscow. The 38-year-old, known for sharing her family life with more than 73,000 followers on Instagram, was in Moscow for surgery on January 4. Her condition worsened soon after the operation, and she was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Russian authorities have begun an investigation into Burtseva’s death. The Moscow Investigative Committee confirmed their involvement, stating that official and medical records will be collected and a number of forensic examinations are underway. Initial reports suggest that Burtseva was undergoing buttock augmentation, a cosmetic surgery intended to enhance the shape, size, or contour of the buttocks. It has been alleged that she experienced anaphylactic shock, a severe reaction, during the procedure.
Buttock augmentation surgery can involve silicone implants or fat transfers.
