Cardi B Opens Up About Her Cosmetic Surgeries: From Breast Augmentation to Rhinoplasty and Liposuction

by Shreeya

Cardi B has always been transparent about her experiences with cosmetic surgery, sharing candid details about the procedures she has undergone and the reasons behind them. Since rising to fame in 2017 with her hit “Bodak Yellow,” the rapper has emphasized that her choices are guided by personal preference, not insecurity.

“People will assume that when you do surgery, you’re insecure or hate yourself, and that’s just not the truth,” Cardi explained during a November 2024 appearance on The Jason Lee Podcast. “If I want to correct something or do a little something something, I’m going to do it. I like being perfect. I like a certain type of body for myself.”

Cardi’s first major procedure was a breast augmentation at age 18, which she funded with money earned from working as a dancer. She told Interview Magazine in 2021 that her breasts had long been a source of insecurity. “I was really skinny when I was younger, and in the Bronx, it’s about being thick and having an ass,” she said. “When I became a dancer and had the money, every insecurity I felt about my breasts was gone.”

Following her breast augmentation, Cardi experimented with butt enhancements, receiving biopolymer injections at age 21. The procedure, which was performed in a basement in Queens, N.Y., caused extreme pain and was later largely reversed. By August 2022, she had 95% of the biopolymers removed, and she has warned fans about the risks of unregulated cosmetic procedures, especially at a young age.

Cardi has also undergone dental and facial enhancements. She received porcelain veneers shortly after her Love & Hip Hop: New York debut to perfect her smile, and later opted for rhinoplasty after nose fillers produced undesired results. In 2019, she admitted that non-surgical nose fillers had made her nose appear wider and longer, prompting her to undergo surgical rhinoplasty in 2020.

The rapper has also had liposuction, which required her to postpone performances in 2019 due to strict post-surgery care. Despite the extensive procedures, Cardi B maintains she has no regrets. “I look at myself in the mirror and really wouldn’t change a thing,” she said on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast in September 2025. She added that being open about her surgeries subjects her to criticism from all sides, but she is comfortable with her body and confident in her choices.
