Amelia Gray Hamlin, daughter of Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin, opened up about a harrowing series of cosmetic procedures, including emergency surgeries, in an interview with Variety, following her appearance in Ryan Murphy’s new series, The Beauty.
The 24-year-old model detailed undergoing multiple procedures, including a nose job and a medically necessary breast reduction after a nipple-ring infection put her at risk of sepsis. However, her experience with breast implants, which she said was encouraged by a former boyfriend, led to a medical emergency.
“I decided to get another breast augmentation because I wasn’t necessarily happy with the scarring that I was left with from the reduction,” Hamlin said. “I woke up in a state that I didn’t agree to. We can just say that.” The implants caused intense pain, making even simple tasks, such as pumping soap, impossible. Ultimately, she required 14-hour reconstructive surgery to repair the damage.
Reflecting on the influence of others on her decisions, Hamlin admitted, “I allowed someone else’s beauty perception to affect my choices.” She also addressed rumors about cosmetic enhancements to her lips, clarifying, “I’ve always had these lips.”
Hamlin, who plays a small but memorable role in Murphy’s 2026 body-horror series alongside Evan Peters, Bella Hadid, Ashton Kutcher, Anthony Ramos, and Jeremy Pope, described growing up immersed in Murphy’s work. “Between Glee and American Horror Story, it was like every Tuesday night, everybody gets in my parents’ bed and we’re watching one of the Ryan Murphy shows. So it was just really crazy to have that be my first experience. It’s not only a Ryan Murphy show, but a Ryan Murphy show that he was directing,” she said.
She also dismissed any plans to appear on reality television like her mother, who currently stars on The Traitors. “It’s fun when there’s a game to be played, but I also saw what that also does to a human being…having to lie and deceive for however many weeks or months. That does something to your brain,” Hamlin reflected.
The Beauty premiered its first three episodes on January 21, with weekly releases through February 18. The series concludes with two episodes dropping in each of the final two weeks, ending on March 4.
