Vanessa Williams, the Ugly Betty star, has opened up about life in her 60s in a revealing interview with Hello!, sharing the innovations that help her look and feel her best. From cutting-edge facial treatments to embracing the GLP-1 wellness trend, Williams candidly discussed the strategies keeping her energized and radiant.
Reflecting on her 50s, Williams admitted the transition was challenging. “I started perimenopause in my late forties, but suddenly, at 51, it’s crazy how your body changes,” she explained. Despite maintaining her usual diet and exercise routine, she felt her body “was not reacting the way it used to,” making her feel “out of control.”
Embracing the GLP-1 Trend
For the past two years, Williams has been using tirzepatide, commercially known as Mounjaro, a medication similar to the popular Ozempic. “It’s a game‑changer,” she said. “When I turned 60, I was like: ‘I want to be here for a long time, and I want to look my best. So what am I going to do?’”

Williams has also explored advanced facial treatments, including the P5 facial. This method combines polynucleotides, hyaluronic acid, and a modern twist on the “vampire facial,” which involves drawing blood, isolating platelet-rich plasma, and applying it to the skin for rejuvenation. After just three sessions, Williams says she can “definitely see a difference.”
Additionally, she incorporates the Ziip device into her routine, a handheld facial tool controlled by an app that uses electrical currents to lift, tighten, and brighten skin. Williams first received the device from make-up artist Melanie Simon, her collaborator on Desperate Housewives, over 15 years ago.

Williams also relies on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and has experimented with NAD+ injections, which are believed to boost energy, cognitive function, and cellular repair. “Science is amazing,” she said with enthusiasm. “I’m like: ‘What’s next? Bring it on!’”
Despite her busy beauty and wellness regimen, Williams continues to shine on stage. She currently stars as Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada musical at London’s West End Dominion Theatre, proving that age hasn’t slowed her down.
