Food Network Star Giada de Laurentiis Opens Up About Wellness, Self-Acceptance, and a Boob Job

Food Network star Giada de Laurentiis is getting candid about aging, wellness, and the everyday struggles many women face — including finding a well-fitting bra.

The 51-year-old chef spoke with makeup mogul Bobbi Brown on her iHeartRadio podcast, The Important Things, where she revealed the frustration of navigating lingerie despite having “thousands” of options in her closet.

“I can’t find one that works with everything. They come out in certain sections, it cuts me… I’m going to be completely honest with you, Bobbi, and this is probably TMI, but I should just have a boob job because maybe that would alleviate all the bra wars I have with myself every day,” de Laurentiis joked. “It is so hard to find a bra for a woman who does not have implants.”

The two agreed that if they could choose, Jennifer Aniston’s figure would be ideal.

Beyond discussing bras, de Laurentiis opened up about her approach to living a non-toxic lifestyle, from her diet to the makeup she wears. She also shared how she encourages these values with her 14-year-old daughter, Jade.

“I know my daughter just loves these makeups that have so much pigment but they’re so incredibly toxic,” de Laurentiis said. “And I keep telling her like, you started at an early, early age with a bucket, right? And then we spend our whole life filling this bucket with all sorts of toxins — and whether or not your body can detox, some bodies are great at detoxing, some bodies aren’t… If you start early, just poisoning, poisoning, poisoning day in and day out, by the time you’re my age.”

De Laurentiis also discussed her evolving fitness routine. “I used to do a lot of cardio. I was like a slave to all the machines and all that stuff. Nowadays, I can’t do quite as much anymore of that. So I do a lot of yoga — I do that five days a week, which I really like. Strength training, which is really good for me since I’m little. I like to paddle, paddle surf on the ocean, since I live by the water, and I walk a lot, a lot — not run, but walk. I think for me, moderate exercise — like 30 minutes a day, five days a week — is better than two hours three times a week. I just can’t recoup from it.”

Reflecting on her life lessons, de Laurentiis emphasized the importance of self-acceptance. “I think for a long time I tried to be who everybody else wanted to be, whether it was my family or my fans or whatever,” she admitted. “In the last five or six years, I’ve said, you know what, ‘I’m OK with who I am regardless of what people think of me. And I’m OK with the choices that I’ve made.’ Have they all been wonderful and perfect? No, but they made me who I am. I’ve sort of made peace with everything that’s happened in my life — with my divorce, with anything that’s happened. I have made peace with the mistakes. And I think I feel a lot calmer about myself.”
