Adults and children in Whitchurch can now access new National Health Service (NHS) dental appointments at SpaDental Whitchurch. The practice, located at Corser House on Green End, is expanding its services to accommodate more patients under NHS dental plans.
Christopher Hilling, managing director at SpaDental, said the initiative aims to improve access to dental care in the local community. “Serving the community is important to SpaDental, so we’re thrilled we can open more NHS spaces to new adult patients,” he said. “Our goal is to make dental care accessible to as many people as we can reach.”
The practice has grown steadily over the past five years, increasing capacity for children and now extending appointments to adults, within the limits of its NHS funding. To meet growing demand, SpaDental Whitchurch has broadened its operating hours to include evenings and weekends.
The clinic follows a therapy-led model, where dental therapists conduct routine check-ups, hygiene care, and basic treatments. More complex cases are referred to a dentist. Dental therapists are qualified to assess oral health, plan treatments, provide periodontal care, and perform fillings.
One new patient described the registration process as “quick and friendly,” noting that the practice scheduled an appointment within a week. The patient praised the professionalism and communication of both the therapist and the dental assistant.
The SpaDental Whitchurch team hopes the expanded NHS capacity and flexible scheduling will make it easier for more residents to maintain consistent oral health care.
