Dollar General Corporation has issued a recall of three lots of 8-ounce Clover Valley Instant Coffee due to the potential presence of glass, the company announced Thursday.
The recall follows a customer report of a possible contamination. While no injuries have been reported, ingesting glass fragments can lead to serious health risks, including cuts to the mouth and throat, dental damage, and intestinal perforation.
The affected products are identified by package UPC 876941004069 and the following lot and best-by-date information, located near the neck of the container:
- Lot L-5163 / Best By 12/13/2026
- Lot L-5164 / Best By 12/13/2026
- Lot L-5165 / Best By 12/14/2026
The recalled instant coffee was sold exclusively at Dollar General stores across the 48 contiguous United States between July 9 and 21, 2025.
Customers who purchased the affected products are urged to discard them immediately and contact Dollar General for a full refund, including tax. by phone at 1-888-309-9030.
“Dollar General is actively investigating the source of the glass contamination and apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this product issue,” the company said in its statement. “The recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.”
