Recently, the National Disease Prevention and Control Administration and the China Meteorological Administration have continuously issued high – temperature health risk warnings.
To effectively safeguard the health and safety of front – line sanitation workers during high – temperature operations in summer, on July 9th, the Health Bureau of Mudan District, in collaboration with the District Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the District Central Hospital, organized a special training session titled “Preventing Heatstroke and Coping Scientifically” for front – line sanitation workers.
A doctor from the Mudan District Center for Disease Control and Prevention explained the classification of heatstroke, the hazards and first – aid of heatstroke – related diseases, and practical heat – prevention and cooling techniques in plain language, emphasizing the lethality of heatstroke – related diseases and the importance of immediate scientific treatment.
The chief physician of the emergency department of Mudan District Central Hospital answered the sanitation workers’ most concerned questions, such as how to avoid the peak heat during work and how to handle emergencies. He also analyzed the identification points of different degrees of heatstroke and provided practical suggestions.
Moreover, medical staff from the 120 emergency center demonstrated first – aid operations like chest compressions and artificial respiration on – site.
Sanitation workers at the training praised the practical and operational content of the training. This activity not only improves the self – protection ability of sanitation workers but also shows the care of the health system in Mudan District for outdoor workers, providing a double guarantee for urban cleanliness and workers’ health.
