IIT Bombay Partners With QR678® and TECCRO® to Drive Innovation in Hair Restoration and Regenerative Dermatology

A major collaboration has been established between IIT Bombay and QR678® through its research division TECCRO®, aiming to advance the fields of dermatology, trichology, and regenerative medicine with a strong focus on hair restoration therapies. The partnership marks a key milestone in efforts to create innovative science-based solutions for hair loss, with a vision of making baldness in India a rarity by the year 2050.

The agreement was made official through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and will see both organizations pool their expertise and resources to develop next-generation treatments targeting hair and skin regeneration. IIT Bombay will play a crucial role in the endeavor by providing its knowledge in areas such as biomaterials, biosciences, bioengineering, and biotechnology, while TECCRO® brings its practical clinical experience and leadership from overseeing the QR678® platform.

A team that includes 11 PhD researchers from the QR678® group alongside IIT Bombay faculty members will drive the project forward. Their tasks will include not only conducting scientific studies but also managing multi-center clinical trials and creating detailed research documentation. The strengths of both teams are expected to bring a greater scientific depth to future innovations.

The partnership will allow work on cutting-edge technologies, such as human in-vitro models and advanced skin and hair simulations using 3D bio-printing. Researchers will also explore Organ-on-Chip platforms designed to mimic human biological responses at a micro level. Other areas of research will include new diagnostic tools, non-invasive imaging, nano-level delivery systems, and the latest medical technologies for dermatological applications.

Additionally, joint efforts will target the study of stem cell-based therapies, exosomes, biomimetic peptides, and other regenerative approaches for improved outcomes in skin and hair restoration. Both groups will work on publishing joint research, applying for grants, and commercializing new products, aiming to turn scientific advances into real-world solutions for patients facing hair loss and skin problems.
