Jackée Harry, the 69-year-old actress known for Sister, Sister, is opening up about her recent cosmetic transformation. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Harry shared that she underwent a deep-plane facelift last fall, describing her goal as wanting her skin to be “yanked” and “snatched.”
Dr. Patrick Davis, Harry’s plastic surgeon, explained that the procedure “resets your tissues back to where they once were.” According to Davis, the surgery can take up to four hours and costs anywhere from $40,000 to $250,000.
Harry revealed that she had been considering the facelift for over two years, engaging in ongoing discussions with her doctor. Reflecting on her younger self, she said, “I was all va-va-voom, and I knew it. But I’m gonna get it again, right, Dr. Davis?”
The actress cited several celebrity inspirations, including Kris Jenner, Jane Fonda, and Diahann Carroll. She recalled advice from Carroll, who suggested she start “doing little stuff” at 35. Harry admitted she had been hesitant due to a fear of pain, saying, “I don’t want the mirror cracked.” Her boyfriend also expressed reservations, encouraging her to “use what God gave you.”
Despite these concerns, Harry ultimately decided to move forward. “When you constantly want something that bad, you’ve got to do it. And I discovered I wanted it that bad,” she said.
Since the procedure, Harry has noted a boost in confidence. She candidly discussed her experiences with body dysmorphia, explaining that the facelift made her feel more like herself. “I have no qualms about how old I am or who I am. This helps it. Boosts it. It pushes it forward. So why not?”
Harry also acknowledged the risks of becoming too focused on cosmetic enhancements, saying, “You start doing the face, then you’re gonna wanna start doing the breasts, then the waist. You gotta be careful to not be addicted.”
Before the surgery, she worried about whether she would look the same, but she praised Dr. Davis’ work afterward, saying, “I’m still me.” Looking ahead, Harry said she is excited for a special glamorous moment once fully healed: walking down the aisle alongside her younger boyfriend.
