Amelia Gray Hamlin Reveals Breast Augmentation Horror That Led to 14-Hour Emergency Surgery

Amelia Gray Hamlin, 24, the model and reality TV star known as the daughter of Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin, has opened up about a traumatic experience with breast augmentation that went drastically wrong.

The reality star, who recently made her acting debut in Ryan Murphy’s new series The Beauty—a body horror show centered on a beauty-enhancing drug with dangerous side effects—spoke candidly with Variety about her personal experiences with cosmetic procedures.

Addressing rumors about lip fillers, Hamlin clarified that she has not had any, explaining, “I’ve always had these lips…I’m doing this thing right now called SkinVive, which is a moisturizer injection, not a filler.”

Hamlin has previously shared that she underwent an emergency breast reduction at age 16 to prevent sepsis after a nipple piercing became infected. Later, she opted for breast implants but the procedure had catastrophic results.

“I was dating somebody who was older than me when I was younger, and I sort of allowed his beauty perception to affect my choices,” she told Variety. “I decided to get another breast augmentation because I wasn’t necessarily happy with the scarring that I was left with from the reduction.”

While she did not name her former partner, Hamlin previously dated Scott Disick when she was 19 and he was 37, and has also been linked to Mercer Wiederhorn and Romeo Beckham. She is currently dating Nicolai Marciano.

Hamlin recalled the surgery turning into a medical emergency: “I woke up in a state that I didn’t agree to. That also turned into a medical emergency surgery, because my breasts literally could not handle what were put in me.”

The complications were severe. “It got to the point where I couldn’t even pump soap because the implants were pushing on the nerves. I ended up having to get a 14-hour reconstruction surgery,” she shared.

The model’s candid discussion sheds light on the risks and pressures surrounding cosmetic procedures, particularly for young individuals navigating personal insecurities and societal beauty standards.
