Amelia Gray Hamlin Opens Up About Plastic Surgery, Breast Augmentation Complications, and Personal Struggles

Amelia Gray Hamlin is sharing her personal journey with plastic surgery, addressing rumors and clarifying the cosmetic procedures she’s undergone.

In an exclusive interview with Variety published on January 24, Hamlin, 24, revealed that despite speculation, she has never used lip fillers. “I’ve always had these lips,” she explained, adding that she’s currently undergoing a procedure called SkinVive, which is a moisturizing injection, not a filler.

Hamlin, whose famous parents are Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin, also opened up about her past experiences with surgery. She admitted to having a nose job and undergoing a breast reduction after a piercing caused a severe infection. After the reduction, Hamlin felt dissatisfied with the scarring and made the decision to undergo a breast augmentation. However, she soon regretted the choice, which led to complications.

“I was dating somebody who was older than me when I was younger, and I allowed his beauty perception to affect my choices,” Hamlin confessed. “I wasn’t necessarily happy with the scarring from the reduction, so I decided to get another breast augmentation.” Unfortunately, the procedure led to a situation that left her feeling completely unsatisfied. “I woke up in a state that I didn’t agree to. We can just say that,” she said.

This second breast augmentation eventually led to a medical emergency. The implants caused severe complications, requiring Hamlin to undergo emergency surgery. “My breasts literally could not handle what were put in me,” she recalled. “It got to the point where I couldn’t even pump soap because the implants were pushing on the nerves.” She then had to undergo a 14-hour reconstruction surgery.

Hamlin had previously opened up about her health scare in 2020, when she explained how a breast piercing infection nearly led to sepsis at the age of 16. “I already had the strep living in my system, and then it went to the breast because it was an open wound,” she shared on the Skinny Confidential: Him and Her podcast. “When I tell you… my boobs were this big. It’s a real thing. And I didn’t just get those down naturally… I had to fully get surgery.”

Looking back on those difficult experiences, Hamlin admitted that she never discussed the surgeries publicly at the time, joking, “I think my mom’s gonna kill me.”

Now, having gone through these health struggles and body image challenges, Hamlin is more open about her journey, sharing her story with the hope of shedding light on the reality behind cosmetic procedures.
