In February, State Farm revealed plans to distribute $5 billion in dividends to auto insurance customers. According to Kiplinger, State Farm’s underwriting gain for 2025 reached $1.5 billion, primarily from auto insurance policies rather than homeowners coverage.

Policyholders with a personal auto insurance policy in 2025 are likely eligible for the dividend. The refund will cover more than 49 million vehicles, with an average payout of approximately $100 per car. The exact amount will vary depending on the state and individual premiums, and State Farm expects the checks to be distributed sometime this summer.
