Despite warnings from her family to reconsider, she proceeded with the operation at a clinic offering low-cost treatments. According to the coroner’s investigation, the cause of death was a fat embolism—a dangerous condition where injected fat enters the bloodstream, blocking vital organs. The medical care both before and after the surgery was described as severely lacking, with unqualified staff attempting to revive her using unorthodox methods. The coroner called the practice “barbaric” and pointed to the poor standards that contributed to the young mother’s death.
In a separate incident, Hayley Dowell from Hampshire, UK, also lost her life following BBL and other cosmetic surgeries in Istanbul. Dowell’s family shared their concerns at a UK court hearing, raising issues about consent and risk disclosure. Her husband testified that Dowell had only agreed to two out of three procedures and was not properly informed of the risks. Shockingly, it was revealed the surgeon left in the middle of the operation, leaving the anesthetist to complete the procedure unsupervised.
