Comprehensive Look at 2026 Automotive Facelifts: Key Changes for Hyundai, Tata, and Maruti Suzuki Models

by Shreeya

Automakers are preparing to launch significant facelifts for some of their most popular models in 2026, bringing fresh designs, updated technology, and improved features to customers. Among the highlighted models are Hyundai’s Grandeur and Verna, Tata’s Punch EV, and Maruti Suzuki’s Brezza, each with notable enhancements aiming to boost their appeal in a competitive market.

Hyundai is set to introduce a facelift for its Verna sedan in India later this year. While the basic exterior shape remains unchanged, the Verna will receive a redesigned front end, a new bumper, fresh alloy wheels, and updated colors. The rear is set to feature new tail-lamps and a revised light signature. One of the biggest changes will occur inside the cabin, where the steering wheel is updated to match the new Venue’s style and includes Hyundai’s logo in Morse code. The dashboard gets a joined-screen design, combining a new infotainment system with enhanced connectivity and possible additional features. The Verna facelift continues with its existing engines: a naturally aspirated petrol and a turbo petrol, with the latter possibly gaining a sportier N Line variant. These upgrades place the Verna on par with Hyundai’s more premium offerings, such as the Sonata.

The Hyundai Grandeur facelift has been spotted with a bold new “Black Ink” trim and several exterior styling changes. Key updates include replacing the previous vertical headlights with horizontal units and adding a thicker LED daytime running light strip. The front grille features sharper lines and premium chrome accents, while the rear turn signals are now raised for better visibility. Inside, the Grandeur debuts Hyundai’s Pleos Connect infotainment system, equipped with a large, portrait-style central touchscreen and minimalist digital instrument cluster. The Pleos Connect system brings a unified software experience to Hyundai’s premium ICE lineup. Other interior enhancements include a streamlined dashboard, reduced physical buttons, updated climate controls, and more storage options. Engine choices remain unchanged with gasoline and hybrid variants, and the facelift is expected to be officially revealed in the first half of 2026 with a modest price increase.

Maruti Suzuki’s Brezza is also undergoing a facelift, as evidenced by recent spy images. For the first time, the updated Brezza is expected to include a 6-speed manual gearbox, offering better driving flexibility. Cosmetic changes are seen in the redesigned front bumper and modified side cladding, while the twin-pod headlights are retained. Interior upgrades could feature leatherette seats, ventilated front seats, and a larger touchscreen infotainment unit.

Tata Motors is preparing to launch the facelifted Punch EV in India, with undisguised vehicles spotted on public roads ahead of its February 20 reveal. The new Punch EV facelift highlights a remarkable driving range, reportedly reaching up to 593.6 km on a single charge. Current battery options include 25kWh and 35kWh packs, but speculation suggests a new 45kWh variant may be introduced, further improving range and performance. The exterior design receives subtle modifications, such as a cleaner front bumper, updated air dam and skid plate, new alloy wheel options, and fresh color choices like Bengal Rouge and bright yellow. Rear styling now incorporates a full-width LED light bar and reworked bumper, aligning the Punch EV with its ICE-powered siblings. Inside, features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen, 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, and connected car technology aim to position the Punch EV among the leading electric SUVs in its class.

With these facelifts, Hyundai, Tata, and Maruti Suzuki are reinforcing their commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. These updates not only refresh the appearance of established models but also incorporate advanced technology and convenience features that reflect evolving market trends and consumer preferences. The automotive market in 2026 is set to offer buyers more choices, improved driving experiences, and enhanced style across multiple segments.
