Colgate Launches New Campaign for Visible White Purple Toothpaste, Highlighting Science-Based Whitening Solutions

by Shreeya

Colgate-Palmolive India has recently launched a major advertising campaign to promote its latest product, Colgate Visible White Purple, placing renewed emphasis on teeth whitening as part of a comprehensive beauty routine. The campaign stars well-known figures including Bollywood performer Kriti Sanon and cricketer Abhishek Sharma, both of whom highlight the role that a white smile plays in enhancing personal confidence and appearance. Rather than limiting whitening to oral health, the new campaign frames it as an essential step within regular beauty and grooming regimens.

The product itself uses unique color-correction technology. Drawing from techniques found in makeup and haircare, Colgate Visible White Purple features a purple formula designed to neutralize yellow tones on teeth. This approach is grounded in the principles of color theory, which has long been popular in other segments of the beauty industry, such as concealers and color-correcting shampoos. Both Sanon and Sharma share their personal takes in the campaign, describing how a radiant smile helps them feel prepared for the public eye, be it on camera or on the field.

Ayan Guha, Director of Marketing for Colgate-Palmolive India, said that through this product, the company aims to merge cosmetic beauty with advanced oral care. Their goal is to make achieving a whiter smile an easy and aspirational first step in beauty routines for many. The campaign is being rolled out on various platforms, including television, social media, and influencer collaborations, aligning with Colgate’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its position as a leader in science-based, premium oral care.

While Colgate and other companies move forward with new formulas and marketing approaches, scientific developments in the field of tooth whitening continue. A recent laboratory study in Switzerland suggests that potassium sodium tartrate could serve as a safer alternative to traditional peroxide-based whitening products. The research found that when compared with standard carbamide peroxide, potassium sodium tartrate effectively removed tooth stains while maintaining enamel strength. This addresses the frequent concern that conventional peroxide treatments may lead to enamel damage or increased tooth sensitivity.

The study authors noted that although potassium sodium tartrate showed promising results in laboratory settings, more research involving real-world clinical trials is needed. If validated, it could offer an option that provides noticeable whitening benefits with lower risk to tooth enamel, marking another step forward in cosmetic dentistry.

These latest industry campaigns and research efforts reflect growing demand for effective tooth-whitening solutions that balance cosmetic results and safety, as both manufacturers and scientists continue to respond to evolving expectations in beauty and oral health care.
