Love Island All Stars contestant Zac Woodworth has revealed that his signature hairline seen in the villa was the result of a hair transplant carried out months before filming began.
The reality TV star opened up about the procedure following his appearance on Love Island USA, explaining that his hair was not “completely natural” during his time on screen. Zac shared details of the surgery on social media, revealing that he traveled to Turkey for the operation, citing significantly lower costs compared with undergoing the procedure in the United States.
According to Zac, the decision to get a hair transplant was largely preventative rather than a response to severe hair loss. He said he wanted to address potential future issues early, rather than wait for his hairline to noticeably recede.
In a candid account, Zac explained that the process began with routine medical checks upon arrival in Turkey. “We landed, got picked up by the shuttle and drove straight to the hospital to get our blood drawn,” he said, adding that the tests were standard checks to ensure he was fit for surgery.
He described the transplant itself as a lengthy and uncomfortable experience. The six-hour procedure was performed while he remained awake, something he admitted was particularly unpleasant. “The procedure itself is six hours, and I’m awake for the entire thing, which sucked,” he said, adding that it was “painful.”
Following the surgery, Zac said he was carefully bandaged and returned to his hotel to recover for the rest of the day. The following day included a post-operative medical wash, which he described as surprisingly soothing, as clinic staff gently cleaned and re-bandaged the treated area before discharging him.
Zac also noted that the timing of the transplant proved crucial ahead of his appearance on Love Island All Stars. He revealed that for the first three months after surgery, he experienced significant swelling, joking that he “looked like an alien” during the recovery phase.
By the time he entered the villa, however, the swelling had long subsided, allowing Zac to appear on the show without any visible signs of the procedure—other than a fuller hairline that has since caught fans’ attention.
