Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman is charting a fresh path following her surprising split from country music star Keith Urban after nearly two decades of marriage. Sources tell OK! that the 58-year-old actress is determined to reclaim her life and transform her image in the wake of what friends describe as a “painful and exhausting” end to the relationship.
Kidman and Urban, also 58, married in 2006 and were long celebrated as one of Hollywood’s most glamorous couples, often appearing together at red carpet events and sharing public displays of affection. However, insiders say the split, which Urban reportedly initiated in June, had become “inevitable” after the couple had been living largely separate lives in recent years. While Kidman was initially “blindsided,” sources note that tensions had been mounting for some time.
A source close to Kidman described her plans for life post-split: “She’s still hurting, but she’s resilient and not about to dwell on it. She’s at a strong point in her life, mentally and physically, and wants to channel that into a fresh start. She’s already consulting her style team on a bold new look – her way of showing confidence and proving that appearance can be a powerful form of comeback. If that includes a facelift or other cosmetic procedures, she’s open to it. She wants to flaunt a ‘revenge body’ and a renewed sense of self.”
The insider emphasized that Kidman’s focus extends beyond aesthetics: “Nicole is as much about spiritual renewal as style. Her priority is her well-being, public image, and her children, not competing with Keith or staging dramatic revenge.”
Reports suggest that tensions during their marriage were partly fueled by Kidman’s choice of daring on-screen roles. Urban reportedly struggled with jokes and public commentary regarding her more provocative parts, including the films A Family Affair and Babygirl, which involved younger male co-stars.
Since the split, Urban has moved into a Nashville residence and has been linked to musician Maggie Baugh, 25, though her family denies any relationship. Meanwhile, Kidman is prioritizing her family life, including her daughters with Urban, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, as well as her adult children from her marriage to Tom Cruise, Isabella, 32, and Connor, 30.
“Nicole is concentrating on bringing stability back to her life. Romance isn’t on her agenda right now,” a source said. “Her focus is on her children and regaining normalcy while demonstrating strength after such a challenging time.”
The divorce may carry significant financial implications. Reports indicate that a prenuptial “sobriety clause” could require Kidman to pay Urban $600,000 for each year of their marriage if he remains sober, potentially exceeding $11 million.
“She’s resolved to bounce back, prove to Keith what he’s lost, and rebuild her life with dignity,” the source added. “Nicole isn’t seeking pity – her way of healing is reclaiming her confidence and public image, and she’ll be back in the spotlight with a smile soon.”
