LLS Rebrands as Blood Cancer United to Expand Mission

by Shreeya

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) announced Thursday it will rebrand as Blood Cancer United, a move designed to better reflect its mission of supporting the entire blood cancer community.

With over 75 years of service, LLS has long aided individuals affected by more than just leukemia and lymphoma—encompassing over 100 types of blood cancers. The organization said the name change is a natural evolution to highlight its inclusive focus.

“The term ‘united’ is both transformative and welcoming,” stated E. Anders Kolb, M.D., LLS president and CEO. “It embodies our commitment to bringing together patients, families, scientists, volunteers, donors, business leaders, and health systems around a common goal.

Blood Cancer United captures who we are today and who we strive to be: a unifying force driving progress for everyone touched by blood cancer.”

Despite the rebrand, LLS’s core mission remains unchanged. It will continue funding research, advancing treatments, offering free support services, and advocating for improved healthcare access. The shift is also tied to its ambitious 2040 goal: “Enabling blood cancer patients to gain more than one million years of life.”

The new name will be officially unveiled on August 28, 2025, ahead of Blood Cancer Awareness Month. A new brand identity and campaign are set to launch this fall as part of the long-planned initiative to unite the blood cancer community.
