Porsche has unveiled the 2027 911 GT3 S/C, a new open-top performance model aimed at driving enthusiasts, combining lightweight engineering, a naturally aspirated engine, and a traditional manual transmission.
The GT3 S/C—short for Sport Cabriolet—draws inspiration from both the purist-focused 911 S/T and the track-oriented 911 GT3. It is powered by a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine producing 502 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired exclusively with a short-ratio six-speed GT Sport manual gearbox, sending power to the rear wheels. Porsche states the model can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 194 mph.
Positioned as the only two-seat convertible in the current 911 lineup, the GT3 S/C channels elements of the 2019 911 Speedster, though Porsche has confirmed it will not be a limited-production model.
Despite its fully automatic convertible roof, the model maintains a relatively low curb weight of 3,322 pounds. This is achieved through extensive use of lightweight materials, including carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic for components such as the hood, fenders, doors, suspension parts, and rear underbody. Magnesium is used in the roof structure and center-lock wheels, while Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes come standard.
Frank Moser, vice president overseeing the 911 and 718 model lines, said the new model reflects strong customer demand for more engaging, driver-focused sports cars. He added that the open-top configuration enhances the appeal of the GT3’s high-revving engine character.
Inside, the cabin prioritizes performance and weight reduction. The two-seat layout features lightweight carpeting, carbon-fiber door pulls, and perforated leather upholstery. Standard equipment includes four-way Sport Seats Plus, with optional carbon-fiber bucket seats available. A digital instrument cluster incorporates Porsche’s Track Screen mode, which emphasizes key performance data and allows the tachometer to be repositioned so the 9,000-rpm redline appears at the top of the display.
The GT3 S/C also debuts a double-wishbone front axle on an open-top 911 for the first time, with chassis tuning derived from the 911 GT3 Touring Package. It rides on staggered 20-inch front and 21-inch rear magnesium wheels fitted with high-performance tires.
Its lightweight power-operated roof can open or close in around 12 seconds and uses magnesium structural elements to preserve a coupe-like profile. An integrated electric wind deflector deploys in approximately two seconds to enhance comfort during open-air driving.
Porsche is also expanding customization options through its Exclusive Manufaktur division, including a new Street Style Package. This package adds Pyro Red exterior accents, bespoke trim elements, two-tone leather upholstery, braided seat inserts, and a walnut shift lever, among other personalization options.
Additional accessories include a 2.8-cubic-foot rear storage box designed specifically for the GT3 S/C, as well as a limited-edition Porsche Design chronograph available exclusively to buyers.
The 2027 Porsche 911 GT3 S/C is now available for order, starting at $273,000 before destination charges. Deliveries to U.S. dealerships are expected to begin in fall 2026.
