Porsche has unveiled the 2027 911 GT3 S/C, a new open-top performance model aimed at enthusiasts seeking a purist driving experience, combining the lightweight engineering of the 911 S/T with the naturally aspirated powertrain of the 911 GT3.
The new GT3 S/C—short for Sport Cabriolet—is powered by Porsche’s 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six boxer engine producing 502 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. Paired exclusively with a short-ratio six-speed GT Sport manual transmission, the rear-wheel-drive sports car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 194 mph.
Positioned as the only open-top, two-seat variant in the current 911 lineup, the GT3 S/C revives the spirit of the 2019 911 Speedster but will not be offered as a limited-production model.
Porsche said the GT3 S/C weighs 3,322 pounds despite its fully automatic convertible roof, thanks to extensive use of lightweight materials. Carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic is used for the hood, fenders, doors, rear anti-roll bar, suspension links and rear underbody panel. Magnesium is employed in the convertible top structure and center-lock wheels, while Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes come standard.
“The new 911 GT3 S/C responds to our customers’ desire for sports cars that are particularly fun to drive,” said Frank Moser, vice president of the 911 and 718 model lines. “The exciting powertrain of the 911 GT3 comes into its own even more when driving without a roof.”
Inside, the GT3 S/C features a two-seat cabin with lightweight materials throughout, including special carpets, carbon-fiber door pulls and perforated leather upholstery. Standard equipment includes four-way Sport Seats Plus, while carbon-fiber bucket seats are optional. A digital instrument cluster includes Porsche’s Track Screen mode, which prioritizes essential performance data and can rotate the tachometer to place the 9,000-rpm redline at the 12 o’clock position.
Porsche said the GT3 S/C is the first open-top 911 to use a double-wishbone front axle, borrowing chassis tuning from the 911 GT3 Touring Package. It rides on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear magnesium wheels wrapped in high-performance tires.
The power-operated lightweight convertible roof opens and closes in around 12 seconds and uses magnesium structural components to preserve a coupe-like roofline. An integrated electric wind deflector can deploy in two seconds to improve comfort during open-air driving.
For buyers seeking greater customization, Porsche is offering a new optional Street Style Package through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. The package adds Pyro Red graphics, exclusive exterior accents, two-tone leather trim, braided leather seat inserts, and a walnut shift lever handle, among other bespoke touches.
Additional accessories include an optional 2.8-cubic-foot rear storage box designed specifically for the GT3 S/C, as well as an exclusive Porsche Design chronograph available only to owners of the model.
The 2027 Porsche 911 GT3 S/C is available to order now, with pricing starting at $273,000 before destination fees. Deliveries to U.S. Porsche Centers are expected to begin in fall 2026.
