MAFS Star Amy Kenyon Shares Shocking Day-One Results After £5,000 Hair Transplant

Reality TV star Amy Kenyon has given fans a raw and unfiltered look at the aftermath of her hair transplant — just one day after the procedure.

The 28-year-old Blackburn native and 2024 Married At First Sight bride admitted she was “traumatised” by the results, describing her appearance as “worse than Megamind” due to extreme swelling.

Kenyon revealed she underwent a procedure involving 1,300 scalp grafts to restore her hairline, spending £5,000 on the treatment, a choice popular among reality stars like Dean McCullough, Wayne Rooney, Rosie Williams, and Stephanie Davis.

Sharing a series of videos on TikTok, Amy filmed herself with bandages still in place, saying: “If I thought I looked like a hot air balloon yesterday… I look absolutely horrific. My forehead is swollen — look at the size of my forehead. I’m slightly traumatised. I can understand why a lot of women are put off having a hair transplant.”

Acknowledging that swelling is a normal part of the recovery process, she advised: “I’m only on day one, so swelling is expected. I would advise if you are a woman and you’re looking to get a hair transplant, you need to take at least one week off work — if you can, two. I’m gonna be walking around like this for two whole weeks.”

In follow-up clips, Amy showcased the bald patch on the back of her head where the grafts were harvested. “I had 1,300 grafts taken out the back of my head and inserted around the front,” she explained, holding up the bloodied bandage. “Look away now if you’re squeamish — there’s blood everywhere.”

Despite the shocking visuals, Amy reassured fans she wasn’t in pain: “I just look like Frankenstein. I know it doesn’t look like I’m gonna have a gorgeous hairline right now because my head is expanded — I look like Megamind.”

The star also reflected on her decade-long use of hair extensions, noting the procedure would have been particularly challenging for her. “If I can do it, if you’ve been looking to have it, if you’ve been self-conscious about your hairline for a long time, then so can you,” she encouraged.

Trichologist Anabel Kingsley offered expert advice on hair regrowth, explaining that hair typically grows about half an inch per month, and topical oils or scalp massages can improve hair health but won’t speed up growth. She recommended clinically proven treatments and nutritional support, including iron, vitamin B12, and protein-rich foods, alongside seeking specialist advice when necessary.

Fans flooded Amy’s TikTok comments, offering both sympathy and encouragement. One viewer wrote: “Looks soooo sore,” while another added: “It looks perfect, just got to sit it out… Hope healing is speedy.” A third user praised her honesty: “A true queen documenting this for us.”
