Vladivostok authorities are investigating the death of a 31-year-old man who reportedly suffered a fatal reaction during a hair transplant procedure at a private clinic. Relatives say the man experienced anaphylactic shock immediately after receiving local anesthesia.

According to the deceased’s older brother, the man had long been concerned about his appearance and chose to undergo the procedure despite his wife’s objections. He spent a month preparing for the operation, completing all required medical tests, which revealed no abnormalities.

On the day of the procedure, the patient’s condition reportedly worsened instantly after the first injection of local anesthetic.

“The doctor administered the anesthetic, and immediately after the first injection, he simply died,” the brother said.

A dermatovenerologist noted that while anaphylactic shock is rare, it can be fatal without rapid and coordinated intervention. She also suggested that the clinic may not have had the necessary emergency medications to manage such a reaction.

Relatives claim that a resuscitation specialist was present and attempted to save the patient. An ambulance arrived approximately five minutes later, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary autopsy results list heart failure as the cause of death.

The deceased leaves behind a three-year-old daughter. His family is awaiting the full medical examination results and plans to file a lawsuit against the clinic.
