Andy Cohen is putting rumors to rest about his noticeably refreshed appearance during CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcast.
The Watch What Happens Live host took to social media on Thursday to respond to speculation that he had undergone plastic surgery before ringing in 2026 alongside longtime co-host Anderson Cooper. Writing on Threads, Cohen directly addressed a fan who asked about his changed look.
“Did the smallest amount of Botox and lost 20 pounds! And had a lot of makeup on,” Cohen wrote, dismissing claims of more extensive cosmetic procedures.
The response came after social media users began buzzing about the 57-year-old’s appearance during Wednesday night’s Times Square broadcast. One Threads user had publicly questioned what Cohen had “done to his face,” prompting a wave of online commentary and speculation.
Cohen’s admission aligns with comments he has made previously about experimenting with cosmetic treatments. In March, the television personality revealed during the Married to Medicine Season 11 reunion that he had tried Botox for the first time.
“I just got it for the first time in my life,” Cohen told Dr. Contessa Metcalfe at the time. When asked about when he had the procedure, he added, “About a month ago. They gave me a little.”
The revelation marked a change for Cohen, who had long resisted injectable treatments. During a 2024 podcast appearance, he said that even the late Joan Rivers had encouraged him to try Botox, but he had declined for years.
Fans were quick to come to Cohen’s defense following the New Year’s Eve broadcast. “He looked like he always has … rested and refreshed no doubt. Handsome man. As well as Anderson too,” one supporter wrote. Another added comments praising his appearance and pushing back against criticism.
Cohen’s weight loss has also been a topic of public discussion throughout 2025. The Bravo executive previously shared that he used GLP-1 medication to help shed pounds after feeling unhappy with his weight. He cited health reasons for the decision, including concerns about plaque in his arteries and high blood pressure.
Cosmetic procedures are hardly unfamiliar territory for Cohen, whose professional career has often touched on the subject. As executive producer of the Real Housewives franchise, he has spent two decades asking cast members about their beauty regimens during reunion specials.
When critics previously accused him of being overly focused on women’s cosmetic work, Cohen defended the practice. “‘What work have you done’ remains at the top of the list of viewer questions every season, every franchise,” he said at the time. He added, “The HW have unabashedly let us into their beauty regimes since day one; it’s a big part of the series DNA.”
Many fans echoed that sentiment in response to the latest debate. One supporter noted that Cohen is “obviously entirely entitled to do whatever makes him continue to feel fabulous,” while another gushed about how great he looked on New Year’s Eve.
For Cohen, the message was clear: a little Botox, some weight loss, and plenty of makeup — nothing more, nothing less.
