Eva Amurri Opens Up About Feeling “In the Right Body” After Breast Reduction Surgery

by Shreeya

Eva Amurri is embracing her body like never before. The actress and lifestyle blogger reflected on her transformative 2025, highlighting her decision to undergo breast reduction surgery—a procedure she had long considered.

In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on December 30, Amurri, 40, looked back on the “peak” moments of the year, including reducing her breast size from a 32F to a 32C. “I made the huge decision to have this surgery in January,” she wrote, noting that it was something she had wanted for over 20 years.

Following the procedure in the spring, Amurri said that by May, her recovery was well underway. “I was suddenly feeling like I was in the right body for me since I hit puberty. It was like starting a whole new chapter of my life,” she added, accompanying the post with a photo of herself in lingerie.

Amurri has been open about the physical and emotional challenges of living with a larger chest. On her blog Happily Eva After, she explained, “From the outside, it can seem glamorous, sexy, and fun… but having extremely large breasts can affect you physically and mentally. They hurt your back, they’re hard to clothe, and most importantly: you can’t take them off and take a break.”

The actress also discussed the impact of pregnancy and breastfeeding on her body, noting how her chest would fluctuate dramatically, sometimes growing to G/E cup sizes. “The yo-yo-ing size contributed to drooping and sagging,” she explained, reflecting on her experiences as a mother of three.

Amurri documented her post-surgery journey on Instagram, sharing both the challenges—such as bruising, limited mobility, and the guilt of resting—and the positive results. “I don’t think I ever had boobs that looked this good, even when I was 18. So…worth it,” she wrote in one update.

Her journey also intersected with a very public moment: her wedding to chef Ian Hock on June 29, 2024. The Hudson Valley ceremony received widespread attention, and Amurri faced scrutiny over her strapless Kim Kassas gown. She later defended her choice on Instagram, telling followers, “To anyone scandalized by my breasts not being ‘put away’… feel free to screenshot this for later.”

Amurri’s candid reflections provide insight into both the personal and public aspects of her transformation, highlighting her newfound confidence and comfort in her body.
