A Blackpool-based Boy George tribute performer has started 2026 with a dramatic image overhaul, undergoing a hair transplant and advanced skincare treatments in a bid to enhance both his confidence and his career.
Liam Halewood, who began losing his hair at the age of 24, recently had a £5,500 hair transplant at London’s Wimpole Clinic. The procedure restored hair to the top of his head, a change he says has left him looking “10 years younger” and feeling significantly more self-assured.
Speaking about the decision, Liam said the transformation marked a turning point in his professional journey. “I’d lived half of my life out as someone else,” he explained, adding that the transplant was part of a wider effort to bring “Liam Halewood to the forefront of show business.”
The makeover did not stop with his hair. Liam has also been undergoing non-invasive skincare treatments, including microdermabrasion and microneedling, carried out by a local aesthetician. The treatments aim to naturally clear, tighten and rejuvenate the skin.
In a Facebook post documenting the process, Liam noted the commitment involved. “You can’t put anything on your face for 48 hours, but the results are worth it,” he wrote.
He has been open about funding the procedures himself, stressing that none of the treatments were sponsored. To maintain transparency, Liam shared unfiltered photos taken in natural daylight to show the results honestly.
“I don’t get Botox or fillers anymore,” he said. “But there are always options. This shows there are other ways to get clear, tight, fresh skin without spending a fortune.”
The combined impact of the hair transplant and skincare regime has already delivered visible results, according to Liam, and has given him a renewed sense of confidence on stage. As he prepares to continue performing as Boy George and other iconic artists, he says the transformation is also helping him step more confidently into his own identity.
