A Denmark–China exchange seminar on neuropsychiatry was recently held in China, gathering policymakers, medical experts, and industry representatives to boost bilateral collaboration on mental health.
Hosted by the Danish Embassy in China, the seminar focused on advancing innovation and patient care in neuropsychiatry through joint efforts between the two countries.
Danish Ambassador Michael Starbæk Christensen opened the session, emphasizing Denmark’s long-term commitment to healthcare cooperation with China and a shared goal of improving mental health outcomes.
“Danish life science companies have an important role to play. For years, they have partnered with China, providing innovative medicines and high-quality medical devices,” Christensen said.
The programme featured discussions with experts from leading Chinese hospitals and academic institutions alongside Danish partners. Key topics included how integrated reforms in medical insurance systems and clinical services can foster innovation in neuropsychiatry.
Lundbeck China also participated, highlighting the company’s global role in neuroscience and ongoing support for mental health initiatives in China.
According to the Danish Embassy, the seminar is part of a broader effort to strengthen collaboration in healthcare, research, and innovation, with a shared aim of improving mental health services for patients in both countries.
